Commonwealth Bronze Medal for Kate in the 50m Breaststroke
Kate has scooped a Bronze medal in the 50m Breaststroke at the Commonwealth Games, in a time of 31.17. Kate swam a great race and was battling for the gold medal all the way.
Kate said after the race "I knew it would be a tight race and it would come down to the finish, I am over the moon to get a medal. This year has kinda been surreal for me and to come away from Europeans with 2 Medals and to now get my first individual Commonwealth medal is a bit of a shock for me. To think this time last year I was on Crutches and could not even walk. This is very excting for me, I know I am in good shape, but this is all about building now towards London 2012, anything that comes now is a bonus and a great confidence booster."
